Inside Out Community Arts and U-TURN 2 TAP

VENICE BEACH, Calif- Conscious Containers, a company focused on artist designed sustainable housewares, continues on their goal of supporting art programs for children by donating 175 stainless steel water bottles to Inside Out Community Arts for its annual 3 day Camping/Rehearsal Retreat. With funding rapidly being stripped from art programs in the classroom, after school programs like Inside Out Community Arts are becoming increasingly central to preserving and encouraging children's creative side.

"The importance of access to art is an issue that we hold close to our hearts", says David Alhakeem, co-founder of Conscious Containers. "Due to the economy and programs like No Child Left Behind, art has become the first thing to go when making cuts to the classroom curriculum; we believe that art is such an integral part of the formation of character." David goes on to say, "The company's important goal of supporting art programs for children is what led us seek out Inside Out and we are continually impressed by their various art based programs for Los Angeles youth."

Inside Out Community Arts promotes healthy interaction among at-risk and under-served Los Angeles middle-school youth by supporting them in creating and presenting theater and art, and empowering them to make positive choices as individuals and members of the greater community.

The 175 stainless steel water bottles will be used by the kids on their annual 3 day camping trip and will help to bring awareness to the them about the importance of using reusable product and being environmentally friendly. The bottles will also help to eliminate most of the plastic trash that would be accumulated by 175 people during a 3 day camping trip.

Conscious Containers supports the arts in several other ways, primarily by featuring artists on their line of eco-friendly reusable stainless steel water bottles, U-TURN 2 TAP. "Featuring these talented artists on our products is such a great situation for everyone involved," says David "We get to sell original and beautiful products, the artist gains exposure by having their art showcased in channels they probably won’t normally tap into, and the consumer can buy a functional piece of art for under $20. Everyone is a winner."

Conscious Containers selects new artists quartery, with talent and a commitment to the environment being equally important in the jury process.
